Mumbai Educational Tour Offers Students Hands-On Learning in Science, Media and Heritage
A six-day Mumbai educational tour from October 20 to 25 gave students hands-on exposure to filmmaking, scientific experiments and UNESCO heritage sites, with visits to Film City, Nehru Science Centre, Elephanta Caves and Juhu Beach.
The educational tour began at Goregaon Film City, where students gained firsthand insights into cinematic production, studio sets and the technical aspects of sound dubbing. The visit provided an opportunity to understand the various stages involved in filmmaking and explore the technical processes behind film production.
The next destination was the Nehru Science Centre, where interactive exhibits, high-voltage experiments and the captivating ‘Science on a Sphere’ show introduced students to scientific concepts through practical demonstrations. The experience added a new dimension to their scientific curiosity and exploration.
A ferry ride to the Elephanta Caves emerged as one of the major highlights of the tour. At the ancient site, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage list, students studied the magnificent basalt sculptures and rock-cut architecture, gaining insights into India's historical and cultural heritage.
Balancing education with recreation, the students also enjoyed local cuisine and spent a refreshing evening at Juhu Beach.
The successful organisation and coordination of the entire tour were overseen by tour in-charges Rajesh Yadav and Mahendra Kumar Dansena.
Throughout the journey, school teachers Sandeep Pal, Priyanshi Jain, Ms. Vibha Singh, Ankesh Arya, Laxman Dubey and Satyesh Mahana guided and supervised the students.
The six-day excursion proved to be a successful and memorable experience, combining practical learning with opportunities to explore scientific discoveries, media production and historical heritage while fostering camaraderie among the students.
